Deepening China‑Africa Practical Cooperation ｜ SAWICH  Holds Economic, Trade and Education Matchmaking Talks with the Tanzanian Delegation

     China‑Africa friendship stretches back through history. Under the framework of the Forum on China‑Africa Cooperation and high‑quality Belt and Road Initiative, China‑Tanzania economic and trade cooperation is deeply‑rooted. In the new era, guided by the sincere, real‑friendship policy toward Africa and the correct view of justice and interests, China keeps advancing all‑round practical cooperation with African countries. As a national‑level platform for China‑Africa economic and trade collaboration, Hunan China‑Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Innovation Demonstration Park serves as a vital hub for government‑enterprise liaison and people‑to‑people cooperation.

    To deliver outcomes of the Forum on China‑Africa Cooperation, consolidate the China‑Tanzania comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and build an efficient bridge for government‑enterprise docking, SAWICH‑Study And Work In China convened a special liaison meeting with the Tanzanian official delegation at 19:00 on August 19, 2026, within the China‑Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Innovation Demonstration Park. Aligning the national development strategies of both countries, the two sides held in‑depth consultations on three core themes: educational exchanges, youth employment empowerment, as well as business and trade cooperation, exploring practical pathways for win‑win results.

    Blessed with rich natural resources and vast economic growth potential, Tanzania is well‑aligned with the orientation of China‑Africa cooperation and actively expands international collaboration in foreign trade, education upgrading and youth development. Following the policy guidance for high‑quality China‑Africa economic and trade development, this dialogue seeks to smooth bilateral communication channels, pool cooperation consensus, and foster implementable, sustainable people‑to‑people China‑Africa cooperation models.

    The Tanzanian delegation comprises representatives from local governments, youth organizations, industry institutions and geological experts, including Faidiha Suleiman, District Commissioner of Busega; Amani Balande, Deputy Mayor of Kinondoni; Ruben Sagayi, Member of the UVCCM Council; Dr Michael Amos, Assistant District Commissioner; Ali Seif and Ahmed Sulei from Zanzibar‑based institutions; geologist SAAD SULEIMAN and Dr Tumsifu Mamboleo. The core management team of SAWICH‑Study And Work In China attended the meeting, including Xu Hongzhai, Chairman; Ai Weizhong, General Manager; Zhang Yi, Operations Director and Deng Xichen, Meeting Recorder.

    During the talks, both parties introduced their respective development layouts, resource endowments and competitive strengths. The Tanzanian side elaborated on its domestic business environment, youth development landscape and geological & mineral resources, and put forward clear cooperation demands covering two‑way talent cultivation, study and training programmes in China, youth internship and employment, as well as bilateral trade, which are consistent with policies for China‑Africa industrial capacity cooperation and talent empowerment.

    Preliminary consensus was reached on three major cooperation priorities: First, deepen educational and cultural exchanges to build bridges for China‑Africa talent mobility. Drawing on the SAWICH service platform for study, internship and employment in China, both sides will smooth pathways for Tanzanian youth to pursue academic studies and vocational training in China, facilitate two‑way talent circulation and advance China‑Africa human resources development initiatives.

    Second, empower youth employment to support local sustainable development. Cooperation will be carried out in vocational skill training, on‑the‑job internships and youth business incubation to improve the comprehensive competence of local youth and respond to Tanzania’s domestic development realities.

   Third, diversify business and trade cooperation to tap industrial opportunities. Resources from governments, enterprises and research institutes will be pooled to explore collaboration in geological exploration, commodity trade and other sectors, establishing a multi‑layered, wide‑ranging China‑Africa cooperation framework.

   Centred on information sharing and the establishment of regular liaison mechanisms, this meeting enabled preliminary exchanges on project implementation details and follow‑up communication protocols. Both sides agreed that China‑Africa cooperation enjoys solid historical foundations and favourable policy prospects. The dialogue has brought government‑enterprise partners closer and laid a robust groundwork for refining cooperation plans and delivering tangible projects. Going forward, the two parties will sustain regular communication, translate consensus into concrete actions in education, youth development and trade, further advance people‑to‑people China‑Africa friendship, and contribute corporate‑level strength to building an even closer China‑Africa community with a shared future.
